The Exchange supports on average 25 people a week, with many people attending more than once. From listening to feedback we have introduced themed morning sessions around purposeful activity and housing advice, and have continued to provide general signposting and support.
Our Tuesday session offers a Job Club to support people in all aspects of daily occupation and links them into a wide range of projects and volunteering opportunities. We also use this session to connect clients into learning and personal development opportunities run at Colab including the Growing People Growing Places Courses, Peer Mentoring, YMCA Exeter Perspectives Course and Speaking Up.
Our Thursday session has a housing theme and is supported by the Assertive Homeless Outreach Team, Exeter City Council Housing Advisors, Homegroup and Sanctuary Supported Living.
In addition we run Exchange Plus sessions that support volunteering opportunities as well as projects to support people to get out and about. We have re-named this the CoLab Community Action Team (CoLab CAT’s). In conjunction with Gabriel house and St Petrock’s the Colab Cats maintain their allotment, and have started cooking and baking sessions.
We are currently developing The Exchange to include opportunities for training and work experience through a sub-project called Coffee@CoLab. You can donate to our Crowdfunder to help make this part of the project a reality.Back to projects
