Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week at Colab
This year more than ever we wanted to recognise the importance of staying well and raising awareness around mental health and wellbeing...
We organised and hosted a week of activities for staff working at the hub and the people who visit us for services, from a hooping session to wake us all up on Monday morning to providing fruit and smoothies for our visitors we were really grateful to all those who joined in.
To look after staff wellbeing we have developed our mezzanine to become an wellbeing area where people can take a bit of time out, relax, meditate, listen to music, and have a be of me time. We spent time reflecting with each other about the past year and created the beginnings of a resource tree in our atrium where people can post details of where they have received support with their mental wellbeing and also a memory tree where people can recognise those they have lost or who are no longer in their lives.
We will continue to develop ideas around using the resource tree as part of our Colab Connect - Community Response to Mental Health Project.
