The CoLab Women Project has supported women with complex lives since 2017. In this new programme, we are partnering with Exeter City Council and other local housing & health providers to deliver the ‘Breathing Space’ Project.
CoLab is a multi-agency health and well-being hub that supports some of the most disadvantaged communities in Exeter through the 4 key themes of Wellbeing, Belonging, Rehabilitation and Recovery.
The Breathing Space Project revolves around providing secure accommodation and wrap-around support for women experiencing or at risk of homelessness due to domestic and sexual violence and abuse, and at the heart of our offer will be 9 respite places for women in Exeter.
A range of key partner agencies collocated at CoLab will provide curated support to women over a 6-month period. Alongside a gendered and safe accommodation offer, a 12 week ‘Home Vision’ programme of support will be offered to women that will enable them to make positive choices about their housing stability, and enable the supported pathways that increase their likelihood of achieving this.
The project will enable safe, trauma informed recovery opportunities that will improve understanding of the impact of domestic abuse; providing education, advocacy and community-based peer-led support towards stronger and more sustainable futures.
We are seeking to appoint 2 x Women’s Housing Support Workers who will have a core base at CoLab Exeter, but will also regularly work off-site in the community in the 2 properties where the women will be living, as well as being available for on-call support on a rota at evenings and weekends.
Colab Exeter is committed to promoting a positive approach to equality, diversity and inclusion and values the benefits of employing a diverse range of talented people.
To apply, please submit an up to date CV plus a covering letter that is no longer than 2 sides of A4, summarising why you are interested in the role and how your experience, skills, and values align with the job description and person specification.
