Volunteering

We are committed to offering opportunities for people to volunteer across all areas of our organisation and we really value the diversity that volunteers bring to our hub. In return we aim to offer interesting and inclusive opportunities for people to get involved with our work and gain new skills and experience along the way.

From Welcome Team volunteers who assist with meeting and greeting our visitors, to Coffee@Colab volunteers with lived experience looking to gain skills and experience, student placements, project volunteers, and of course our Board of Trustees, there are many ways for people to get involved at Colab.

We are extremely grateful to all our amazing volunteers who give their valuable time and commitment to support our work and we have a great team of people supporting us already. If you are looking to get involved and would like to volunteer for a thriving and dynamic community based initiative we would love to hear from you.

Contact Us to let us know a little bit about yourself and why you are intertested in volunteering at Colab, send this along with a CV if you have one, and we will get back to you as soon as we can to discuss any opportunities that might be available.

Collaboration in Action

Welcome Team Volunteer

As a member of our Welcome Team you are one of the first people a visitor will meet when they arrive at the Colab Exeter Hub. The Hub is designed to be as welcoming and accessible as possible, but some people may still be anxious when arriving in a new space. Your role is to help visitors feel at ease and guide them to the organisation or individual they have come to see.

Visitors may not always know exactly who they need to see; perhaps they have heard about a learning or volunteering opportunity and want to know more. Your training will enable you to ask the right questions and signpost people to the most appropriate person in the hub.

This is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting and thriving venture in the heart of Exeter and to gain experience of working with and supporting vulnerable people.
