Better Health Exeter is a new project that has been set by Exeter Health Education Partnership, which is made up of Exeter Patient Panel, Wellbeing Exeter, Exeter Primary Care, RD&E Hospital Trust & Community Services and Adult Health & Social Care Team, and it is based at CoLab Exeter.
Working with patient groups, GP surgeries, Wellbeing Exeter, the RD&E and the voluntary and community sector the project aims to help people in Exeter access opportunities to better manage their own health concerns and conditions.
Over the past six months the project has been mapping the health education opportunities, such as talks, one day events, training courses, and other activities, that already exist in Exeter. It is looking at what has worked well and what could be repeated to support a wide range of health related issues such; as stress and anxiety, diet and nutrition, getting more active, improving sleeping, musculoskeletal disorders, managing pain, long term health conditions, etc.

A recent survey of around 400 patients and health care workers identified some gaps in existing provision. The project will now work with the health sector to plan a range of community based educational events and activities across Exeter that will support local people to improve their health and wellbeing, both mentally and physically.
Unfortunately all our events are currently on hold due to COVID-19. However, they will be running later on in the year.
