Launch of CoLab Women Resilience Rising Financial Project

On Tuesday 12th November, we were delighted to launch our Resilience Rising Women’s Financial Support Project at CoLab. This new project is funded by the Smallwood Trust, and we were pleased to welcome their Grants Programme Manager, Jo Lloyd, to the event. Jo spoke about the origins of the Trust and it’s legacy of supporting women out of poverty for over 100 years.

The event was attended by over 30 representatives from a wide range of local agencies that support women. We had a fantastic presentation from Rachel Griffiths, our new Women’s Financial Support Worker, who gave an overview of her role and outlined what she will be able to offer to both women and partner agencies.

Rachel will be offering one-to-one advice and support for women facing issues such as homelessness and domestic abuse, as well as developing group-work over the tenure of this three-year project. While we are unable to offer debt advice, we can provide help with benefits, income maximisation, and broader advocacy support.
